Contemplative Pavilion

AS PART OF A GROUP OF THREE (3) STUDENTS, OUR TASK WAS TO CREATE A PRESENTATION COMPRISING A MINIMUM OF FOUR (4) AND A MAXIMUM OF EIGHT (8) A3s LANDSCAPE FORMAT MATERIALS. THESE MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING DRAWINGS, EACH INCORPORATING THE SPECIFIED INFORMATION:​

  1. SHORT WRITE UP: SHORT WRITE UP BASED ON YOUR FINDINGS OF THE HYPOTHETICAL TROPICAL RAINFOREST SETTING THAT YOU HAVE SELECTED. (50 WORDS)

  2. DIAGRAMS: A SERIES OF DIAGRAMS SHOULD ESTABLISH THE PRINCIPAL IDEAS OF YOUR SCHEME IN GRAPHIC MEANS. YOU ARE ALSO REQUIRED TO INCLUDE YOUR SPATIAL EXPERIENCE NARRATIVE (NOT MORE THAN 100 WORDS).

  3. FLOOR PLAN (1:50): LINE WEIGHTS, WALL THICKNESSES, ETC. ARE ESSENTIAL TO PROVIDE A SENSE OF MATERIALITY AND STRUCTURE.

  4. SECTIONS + ELEVATIONS (1:50): MINIMUM 2 SECTIONS AND 4 ELEVATIONS. LINE WEIGHTS, WALL THICKNESSES, ETC. ARE ESSENTIAL TO PROVIDE A SENSE OF MATERIALITY AND STRUCTURE.

  5. DETAIL DRAWING (1:5): THIS DRAWING MUST SHOW THE MOST INTERESTING TIMBER JOINT(S) OF YOUR DESIGN SCHEME.

  6. KEY DRAWING: THIS KEY DRAWING WILL BE UP TO YOU. IT WILL LIKELY BE A KEY INTERNAL PERSPECTIVE(S), SECTIONAL PERSPECTIVE(S), OR SOME OTHER EXPLANATORY DRAWING(S). IT MUST ESTABLISH THE KEY ESSENCE OF YOUR WORK.

  7. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT A COMPILATION OF DESIGN PROCESS: YOUR WORKING MODELS, SKETCHES, THOUGHTS, IDEAS, DEVELOPMENT, AND PROCESS THINKING. (THIS COMPONENT IS TO BE SEPARATED FROM THE A3 SUBMISSION)

ADDITIONALLY, WE HAD TO PREPARE A COMPILATION OF OUR DESIGN PROCESS, INCLUDING WORKING MODELS, SKETCHES, THOUGHTS, IDEAS, DEVELOPMENT, AND PROCESS THINKING.

BECAUSE THIS PROJECT IS A GROUP PROJECT, WE WERE TO WORK WITH MULTIPLE PEOPLE. THUS, THIS PROJECT HAS ENHANCED MY COMMUNICATION SKILLS AS WHENEVER WE HAD MISUNDERSTANDINGS, WE LEARNED TO COMMUNICATE INSTEAD OF ARGUING.

Reflection

WE HAVE SEPARATED TASKS FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL BASED ON THEIR STRENGTH, THUS I HAVE MANAGED TO BE SELF-RELIANT AND THIS GROUP WORK HAS HELPED ME REFLECT ON MY ACTIONS AND KNOWLEDGE. 

IN THE FUTURE, WE WILL HAVE TO WORK IN A GROUP. THUS, THIS PROJECT HAS HELPED ME PREPARE FOR MY FUTURE CAREER AND I AM NOW ABLE TO PUT THEORIES INTO PRACTICE AS MY UNDERSTANDING ON PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE WITHIN THE FIELD OF STUDY HAS ALSO IMPROVED.
