Sustainable City Ideas
Sustainable City Ideas
In this assignment, we applied various frameworks and concepts, focusing on biodiversity resilience cities as precedents from Assignment 1, to develop a comprehensive proposal. Our approach considered multiple dimensions of sustainability: economic sustainability, focusing on growth, development, and productivity; social sustainability, emphasizing equity, empowerment, accessibility, participation, cultural identity, and institutional stability; and environmental sustainability, prioritizing ecosystem integrity, carrying capacity, and biodiversity. We also incorporated the Ecomasterplanning framework, particularly blue and green infrastructures, into our proposal.
The expected outcomes for this collaboration project with the Global Environment Centre included creating a biodiversity map/plan that identifies different species observed in Tasik Cyberjaya, conducting a sustainability assessment across social, biodiversity, and ecosystem dimensions, and proposing innovative strategies for biodiversity awareness through VR/AR activities aimed at community engagement.
